I would bring you flowers, all the bright colors Like oranges and reds I would take your photograph but it’s already Hanging in my head I’d like to be to you someone who is permanently true Like an old mixed tape you can’t replace or exchange for something new I’m trying to tell you with the simplest three words The way you look at me makes me wonder if I’ll ever get through That I love you I would be your lover if you’d let me love you In the broad daylight I would cover you with kisses in the morning And into the night I’d like to be to you someone who is permanently true Truer than your mother the first day that she laid her eyes on you I’m trying to sing to you the simplest of songs I’ve made myself a fool just trying to get you to sing along Would you just sing along? If you were a sparrow then I’d be a sparrow Just to be close And if you were a mouse I’d find a way to squeeze Into your mousy home I’d like to be to you someone who is permanently true So darling you could run away, but you best be sure I’d be running after you Oh, you say I’m just a picture on your wall You joke with my name but, darling, remember I called I’ll call again for you I’ll call again for you Permanently true

It's Obvious 03:19
Each headlight portrays the perfection of your face on an interstate freeway, backseat with you I can’t believe myself, right outside of the café I walked away but now I’m here kissing you No one’s ever gonna love you more than I love you, I do Watching the IV, as you’re drifting off to sleep I kiss your cheek and then say a prayer for you The clothes I wore all week, the nurses laughed with you at me, to pass the time we played Pictionary No one’s ever gonna love you more than I love you Well, that’s obvious It’s obvious That’s obvious to me and you Today’s my favorite day, I lift the veil and see your face No one’s ever gonna love you more than I love you, I do

Jacob 04:16
Many years now, he had be restless Each accomplishment, lacking purpose Perhaps it was time to see family His brother though, made him nervous Peace might be bought with the right offering Divide his lot in two companies At night he woke, his body trembling What price could repay Jacob’s treachery? He wrestled the angel He wrestled ‘til morning He wrestled the angel He asked for the blessing When the morning came his hip had been displaced Esau came with his four hundred men Jacob went out alone to meet him At last Esau his judgment would pass With laughter and kisses, weeping He wrestled the angel He wrestled ‘til morning He wrestled the angel He asked for the blessing When the morning came his hip had been displaced His name had been changed He had seen the Face The Face

Letters 03:33
When I came home with flowers from the market My love was gone Her dresser drawers were emptied on the carpet My wife was gone Her wedding ring had been discarded By the sink with the note she left Keep breathing, keep breathing, keep breathing, breathe I pulled from the floor an old box of letters We had written when we were young The pedal floored, I had only minutes The airport, it was just ahead Keep breathing, keep breathing, keep breathing, breathe The woman at the checkpoint did not understand as I pushed past her Racing towards the gate Everyone shouting, “Security! He has got a bomb!” Baby, when I said I loved you I meant that I’d love you always Baby, I am pinned here screaming, my love for you in black ink spilt on the floor

Fade, fade each earthly joy Jesus is mine Break, break each tender tie Jesus is mine Dark is the wilderness Earth has no resting place Jesus alone can bless Jesus is mine Farewell ye dreams of night Jesus is mine Lost in this dawning bright Jesus is mine All that my soul has tried Left but a dismal void Jesus has satisfied Jesus is mine Farewell mortality Jesus is mine Welcome eternity Jesus is mine Welcome o loved and blessed Welcome sweet scenes of rest Welcome my savior's breast Jesus is mine

When you and I collide I'm as dark as you are light Our muscles and our bones Both quake with human pulse But it seems you're a different kind I need angel wings sewn on with strings I need angel wings So take your needle and thread Let it pierce my shivering skin The cells and fibers tear The blood and the feathers smear Until I am completely one I need angel wings sewn on with strings I need angel wings Oh, I must be Made to see so much more Than I can see Standing on my two feet I need angel wings sewn on with strings I need angel wings

What could I say To make you see? What could I do To prove to you That you don’t understand me If I were there would I Write my name Like a jet in the sky With a smoke stream? What language should I use? And what would be my ink? Would you be surprised or would you just classify it Like calling a sunrise ”a sunrise” so you can understand it When you don’t understand me Yeah, you won’t understand me

O little town of Bethlehem How still we see thee lie Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by Yet, in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us we pray Cast out our sin and enter in Be born in us today We hear the Christmas angels Their great, glad tiding tell O come to us, abide in us Our Lord Emmanuel

For many years now, he had been restless Each accomplishment, lacking purpose Perhaps it was time to attack the machines The androids though, made him nervous He wrestled the androids He wrestled 'til morning He wrestled the androids He fought for the blessing

about

This album is the result of a two-year creative project between Tim and Abby Isaacson. Each month we would write and record one song. That's it. It had to be done before we turned the calendar page. Everything took place in our tiny, tiny Boston apartment, on our little Apple laptop. Our motto was “do-it-yourself” and “use-what-you-got”. The self-imposed time constraint forced us to combine creativity with the routines of laundry and dishes. You might hear pans clattering, sirens whirling and our Greek landlady shouting beneath our window. It’s all in there. These are our favorite recordings from two years of living, working and singing in that cramped Boston brownstone.

about

The Eyes Seattle, Washington

We believe in "do-it-yourself" and "use-what-you-got". Music has to be a hands on experience. It's creation over consumption. It's the book we just finished, the friend we just met, the laundry and the dishes. It's every sunset and celebration - sung out loud. Grab a banjo or a pan from the kitchen. This is a free-for-all. ... more
